The short version: daylogger is a small, free diary app. Your entries are yours. Be decent with it, and understand that it comes with no guarantees.
the agreement
By creating an account or using daylogger, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Give an email address you actually control, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at hello@daylogger.io if you think someone else has access to it.
your entries are yours
You keep ownership of everything you write. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service: to store your entries and display them back to you.
We do not read your entries, publish them, or hand them to anyone else. The rare exceptions are if you explicitly ask us to look at something while helping you with a problem, or if the law genuinely compels disclosure.
fair use
While using daylogger, please do not:
- break the law, or use the service to harm anyone;
- try to access another person's account or data, or probe around the security of the service;
- scrape, overload, or otherwise disrupt the service or the infrastructure behind it;
- resell or rebrand the service as your own.
availability
daylogger is a small project offered free of charge. We do not promise any particular uptime, and features may change, move, or be removed. If we ever shut the service down we will give reasonable notice and, where practical, a way to export your entries first.
ending it
You can stop using daylogger whenever you like and ask us to delete your account — see the privacy policy for how. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.
no warranty
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. Please keep your own copy of anything you could not bear to lose.
limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of daylogger.
changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
