daylogger is a small diary app. It keeps the days you log so it can show them back to you, and does nothing else with them. No ads, no tracking, nothing sold.
what we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign up with a password, it is hashed by our authentication provider before it is stored — we never see or store the password itself.
- Google sign-in, if you use it. Your email address and the basic profile details Google shares at sign-in, such as your name and profile picture. We never receive your Google password, and we do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or any other Google service.
- Your entries. For each day you log: the date, a rating from 1 to 10, and an optional short note you type yourself.
- Ordinary server logs. Our hosting providers record standard request data such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the service running.
what we do with it
We use it to sign you in and to show you your own days. That is the whole list.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for advertising. daylogger runs no third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, and no cross-site trackers. We do not use your entries to train machine learning models.
who else handles it
Running the app means a few providers necessarily process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles authentication.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the app.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Each acts as a service provider to us, not as an independent owner of your data. We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it.
cookies
One cookie, holding your sign-in session so you are not asked to log in on every page. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing it signs you out.
keeping it safe
Traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Entries are protected by database-level row security, so a given row can only ever be read or changed by the account that created it. No system is perfectly secure, but nothing here is shared between accounts by design.
deleting your data
Your entries stay until you remove them. You can delete any individual day from within the app at any time.
To delete your whole account and every entry attached to it, email hello@daylogger.io from the address on the account. We will action it within 30 days. Deletion is permanent — we cannot recover entries afterwards.
children
daylogger is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
